Mind of its own.

It is notoriously difficult to search. I was going to suggest you try this site for some useful tips,

http://www.forrestdale.dial.pipex.com/index.html

but the link doesn't work for me any more. Try again tomorrow. Hopefully it is just a temporary glitch.

its a pain in the backside!

Less is More!! sometimes it pays to search by Surname alone as you can never know how the Name is Gazetted{admittedly this works better for unusual surnames~I wouldn't recommend "Smith" }

Should the award of an MID be on the medal index card? It doesen't seam to show it.

scott,sometimes it has 'emblem issued' on the mic for m.i.d.

In addition to notations on the main series of MIC for campaign medals, there is a seperate set of index cards for MIDs. These are being indexed as part of the larger project.

See

Cards for women, and those individuals who were Mentioned in Despatches will be available in November 2004.
