Hi,

it's whats known as a 'Abzeichen für Sanitätsmannschaften', also known as 'Sanitäter-abzeichen', so a 'medic'. The issue insignia is stamped out of yellow wool and sewn to an oval backing of uniform cloth. Introduced in 1909, here worn on a private-purchase M1895 Waffenrock, helps to situate this rock between 1909 and 1915, when production of the M95 was stopped, and, in theory, for private prurchase, prohibited.

Inside the is the name "Huebner" and "Kanonier" - so would this individual have done double duty or would these roles be at different time frames?
