No MIC readily apparent on Ancestry UK for these details,if found could find the medal roll details and source the roll for battalion details.

John Hughes landed in France 2nd December 1915 as a Lance-Corporal and qualified for the 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals. Not certain, but the date coincides with the arrival of the 38th (Welsh) Division which included the 10th (1st Rhondda), 13th (2nd Rhondda), 14th (Swansea), 15th (Carmarthen),16th (Cardiff), and 19th (Pioneers) battalions of the Welsh Regt..

He was later transferred to the Labour Corps as no. 430116 and his highest wartime rank was Sergeant. Demobilised to Army Reserve Class "Z" on 24th April 1919. The Labour Corps medal rolls would cover his previous unit(s).
