Hi all,

Quick question - which trench map (preferably one available from the National Archive) shows the best coverage of both sides trenches around Thiepval in 1916?

Thanks!

When in 1916. The trenches were different as the battle progressed....1/7/16, 3/9/16, 15/9/16 or later as the village fell?

Oh, ok. I don't really mind to be honest. I'm just after one about that time, that shows a good view of both sides if such a thing exists! I guess ideally 1 July.

57D SE Edition 2 B is a starter (1 / 20,000). British front line shown, German trenches more evident but not named. Will check Linesman later to give you more references.

Many thanks TT. I'll have a look at it. Sorry to be a pain, but you don't happen to know what 'WO' number that correlates to in the National Archive do you?

I've just got some maps from the National Archive - but didn't realise that they were 7/10 size. I thought they were reasonably priced!

Is there anywhere I can buy full size versions?
