Blackburn & Darwen Newspaper casualties

Has anyone ever researched any casualties from Blackburn & Darwen, seeking any advice on best newspapers to check etc, email sent to library but not very helpful, anything appreciated, Geoff

I went there a few years back - paper is pretty good. Will check when get home for specific names

A few years back, in the local history section, they had a box with copies of all WW1 obituaries, most with photo, taken from the local paper. All in alphabetical order too!

Wulsten, your man actually came from Darwen, not Blackburn. That was covered by the Darwen paper, not Blackburn. I forget the name of the paper but (again, a few years ago) they had it on microfilm at the local library in central Darwen. Good luck!

Did mr coldstreamer check, hmmm thought not lol, still at the numbers game

so what was the benefit of this post ?? maybe a numbers game ...

I have checked, the one I looked in was

the Darwen Advertiser
