Jonathan Saunders Posted 10 October , 2004 Share Posted 10 October , 2004 I am putting this under WAR IN THE AIR but this is a shot in the dark relating to a WW2 airman. I am interested in finding anyone who served or knew Sgt-Pilot Harold Norman Howes of Gillingham, Kent. He was originally with 213 Sqn and then flew Hurricanes in the Battle of France and Battle of Britain with both 85 and 605 Sqns. He was awarded the DFM and I think had a total of 11 "kills". He was killed when he lost control and crashed his Hurricane in bad weather in December 1940. If you knew anyone that served in 213. 85 or 605 Sgns during 1939/1940 I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Many thanks in advance. David Seymour Posted 17 October , 2004 Share Posted 17 October , 2004 Try www.associations.rafinfo.org.uk. I found this a very useful initial source when working on the Old Thetfordians who served in Bomber Command. Regards, David
