Hi

They were in Trenches E24 to E28 near Elverdinghe

War Diary says

2pm Our artillery opened a heavy bombardment of enemy's trenches, Enemy retaliated by shelling Canal Bank

5.27pm Bombardment still heavy. SOS received from E23. 2 sections of Grenadiers and 1 platoon were at once dispatched to Butt 17 and 1 platoon to Skipton Post and 1 platoon to Pilkem Road Post.

6pm. Telephone wires to front line companies broke by shell fire.

6.25pm. Our artillery still heavily bombarding all along enemy's line, but we're informed that there was no rifle fire in front line, and situation was normal.

6.37pm. Artillery ceased fore.

6.45pm. Situation normal.

Casualties 3 killed, 5 wounded

Regards,

Graeme
