His entry at CWGC is at the end of this link. He was 7th (Service) Battalion Suffolk Regiment and his service number was 40659.

Long Long Trail entry here gives more info about the Suffolks' wartime deployment.

He was born in Birmingham and enlisted at Walsall. Before joining the Suffolks, he was in the South Staffords, number 2607.

He has a Medal Index Card on ancestry.co.uk. He was entitled to a British War Medal and a Victory Medal - so arrived in France after the end of 1915.

Graeme - No need to be tetchy. Not everyone is a daily addict like wot we are.

Carlyas - it may help us if you tell us what you already know. That way we won't be spending our time duplicating stuff. As a general thing, this link will tell you everything you need to know about researching a soldier - http://www.1914-1918.net/soldiers/research.html
