Can anyone help me know what regiment or any information about my great great Uncle William Reyner. These photos are from WW1. But we don't know where he was based or his regiment. I have found written on 1 of the photos Madras, if that could help


He was born in Leeds, Yorks in 1884. His parents were William & Eliza but I don't know if he was married before the war and if he did actually die in it. My grandma, his niece always said he did.

His parent's were born in Leeds but in 1911 they were fruit merchants living in Hessle, Hull.

Julie, I see you have posted at least two other threads. This is confusing as different people may the duplicate effort of others. I see the thread which has the most responses is under Gallipoli
