This is a photo I found in a junkshop years ago and have just rediscovered. I presume the commanding officer is: Captain Orlando Chichester:

Orlando Chichester was born on 6 November 1873.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Chichester, 8th Bt. and Mary Nicholetts.2,1 He married Isabel Clare Parks-Smith, daughter of Egerton Parks-Smith, on 8 April 1899.1 He died on 3 March 1933 at age 59.1

He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 6th Battalion, Devon Regiment.1 He lived at The Warren, Shirwell, Devon, England.

Insignia looks like the Devonshires.

Any suggestions for a unit for Lt Richard Wilson? Black Watch? A&SH?

The handwriting is hard but I read the Corporal as 'Fowler' possibly 'Porter'

Sergeant ?Anning?

Presumably the 227 is a negative number not a reference to the Brigade...

Any leads very welcome.

Simon
