gwalchmai Posted 18 February , 2014 Posted 18 February , 2014 what identifying insignia would regimental medical orderlies who assisted the regimental medical officer have?
seaJane Posted 19 February , 2014 Posted 19 February , 2014 In a ships and navies situation these would be SBAs (Sick Berth Attendants) assisting the surgeon, who might be a staff surgeon, surgeon lieutenant, or surgeon lieutenant-commander (and upward? I'm not sure what the highest ship-borne rank might be, in the Great War). The SBA badge was a red cross on a white background as per the topmost image on the right of the text on this page: http://www.haslarheritagegroup.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56&Itemid=116 sJ
