Terry Carter Posted 6 October , 2004 Posted 6 October , 2004 I will be visiting Lapugnoy Military Cemetery on Friday morning 8 October. I see from the book 'Shot at Dawn' that there is a Pte John Taylor, No.8793, 2nd South Staffs who was shot for desertion on 6 Nov 1917. I see from the Commonwealth War Graves that he was married to Catherine from 16 Nile Terrace, Birmingham. Is there any South Staffs buffs out there who may have bit more info on John Taylor, was he himself a brummie? Regards Terry
Myrtle Posted 6 October , 2004 Posted 6 October , 2004 Interesting to note that Pte Lennie, Remembered Today, was also in 2nd Bt. South Lancs. and by his early died date and number was probably a regular like John Taylor.
