beestonboxer Posted 16 February , 2014 Posted 16 February , 2014 Was visiting relations in Wisbech yesterday took a look in the main church in the town centre, lovely memorial in the church to the fallen and also an original IWGC wooden cross to a lieutenant from the Cambs Reg. Took me back a little the first one I have ever seen wasn't sure if that was what it actually was but have since looked on the net to confirm it is. Well worth a look if any ones out in that direction. sorry to say I was in a bit of a hurry ( people waiting for me) the chaps name has gone clear out of my head. I will go back next time with camera and a little more time but if anyone out there has a little more info would like to hear from you. like I say the first one I have seen anywhere does anybody know of any in other churches ?
sotonmate Posted 17 February , 2014 Posted 17 February , 2014 There are/were some at Salisbury Cathedral. At St Cross in Winchester there used to be a collection of walking sticks (Officers, for the use of) which were apparently the property of 2/Lts from Winchester College who had gone over the top.
