Amberdog Posted 13 February , 2014 Posted 13 February , 2014 (edited) Looking for sources of information or possible book recommendations covering the Black Watch in Germany Apr 22 to Nov 1922. Also their Indian service from Nov 1922 to Apr 1927. Received my great uncle Bill's (pictured in my avatar) service record and he was with the Black Watch during these time frames. I will be making a trip to the Black Watch Museum in Perth at some point this year but would be interested in doing a little reading myself. He was awarded 3/w Class 5/4/22 & at Quetta he was awarded 2nd Class on 28/3/24. Could anybody enlighten me as to what these awards were for? Was it for completion of some educational course perhaps? Any pointers would be gratefully received. Best regards - Maria Edited 13 February , 2014 by Amberdog
gordon92 Posted 13 February , 2014 Posted 13 February , 2014 Suggest you obtain The Black Watch: The Black Watch Photographic Archive ISBN 07524 1763 0. This volume has numerous photos for the period in which you are interested. It was published by the Black Watch Museum and can be ordered from their shop.
Amberdog Posted 13 February , 2014 Author Posted 13 February , 2014 Thanks for the book recommendation Gordon. I'll maybe pre-order it and pick it up when I pay the museum a visit. I'm really hoping to get there next month or the following. Cheers - Maria
