Eran Tearosh Posted 12 February , 2014 Posted 12 February , 2014 Someone showed me a few days ago the item (Shell) shown in the attached file, which he found a few years ago in the sand dunes near the mouth of Wadi el Hesy, North-East of Gaza. I suspect this shell was fired by an Austrian Battery (Or Turkish) during one of the three battles of Gaza. Can anyone help to verify the origin? (In the small diamond shape on the right, there are three letters - From the top: J, M, T. The T in not a certainty, it might be just the J & M) Thanks, Eran

Eran Tearosh Posted 13 February , 2014 Author Posted 13 February , 2014 (edited) Norman, Many thanks! This helps to pinpoint the time - Being British, It had to be fired around the 8th-9th-10th of November 1917, at the beginning of the Philistia pursuit. Eran Edited 13 February , 2014 by Eran
