1/8th Battalion DLI

I'm looking for info on this battalion in April 1915. I have found a few pieces but they're very fragmented and hard to piece together. My great-grandfather was killed on 26th April 1915 and I have only recently found his grave as his widow refused to ever speak to her children about him. Many thanks

Really annoying when Family wont talk. the 1/8 landed at Boulogne 17-4-1915.

14-5-1915 became 151st Brigade in 50th (Northumbrian) Division.

This is a very early encounter in the war and so the reg hist gives some names of ORs, what was your relatives name?

They were near Zonnebe in the Ypres Salient

The 8th DLI were hammered at Ypres.
