Could one of the RGA service number experts please advise me.

I am on the trail of one David Amers, served with 293 siege battery. his service number is 122775. this is a tad earlier than the bulk of 1232-- and 1233-- numbers that I am used to seeing. there are, of course, no surviving military records.

can anything be gleaned from this number?

I am tentatively thinking at this stage from poring over Ancestry records that most likely he was born 1897 and lived in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Any advice gratefully received.

122593 Banks James RGA kia 17-8-17; 122645 Birch Edward John kia 27-9-17. Nothing on the MICs for them, closest numbers I can see to yours.
