A Cryptic Unit Abbreviation - HLSC serving on Salisbury Plain in WW1

A really obscure enquiry - the abbreviation used above is used on a local WW1 Roll of Honour (unfinished) to describe a unit in which a man served.

The adjacent column describes where the man served as Salisbury Plain...

Help! Any ideas?

Could it be mix up of Home Service Labour Corps? That would explain the lack of a MIC too.
