Son of John and Catherine Hill, of 8, Ormean Avenue, Belfast.

Can someone with access to London Gazette DISCOVER what date he won his Military Medal --any information would be appreciated.

L G Issue 30234 d/d 14 8 1917 page 73 of 86 WQE Hill awarded the MM. Suspect won MM approx 3 months before this date. Ralph.

This might help, "awarded the Military Medal for bravery at the taking of Messines Ridge on 7th June." this part snippet was inserted Belfast newspaper Sept 1917.
