Sorry have not got his service number. Doing this on mobile. His MID states theatre of war as The BALKAN. He got SWB and discharge.

Trying to find out when and what battalion he was awarded MM.

thanks

Terry

There is no mention of B. Wilcox winning a MM in the South Staffordshire honours & Awards.

Theatre 2B at that date (6 October 1915) = 7th (Service) Battalion. No MM for Wilcox shown in the battalion's published history.

His regimental number was 14666.

The author, John Wilcox, refers to three uncles on his website, including Bernard Wilcox who apparently won a MM (the other brothers are Albert who got a VC and Ernest who had a DCM). He doesn't mention the regiment but does say that they were from the Birmingham area so South Staffs is possible... I appreciate this is a bit circumstantial but hope it helps.
