Dan Morton Posted 18 January , 2014 Posted 18 January , 2014 I've just completed this 2 figure vignette - no paint yet. The idea for this came from a fellow figure maker, Kreston Peckham several years ago, but I finally got around to completing it. A trench fight between a single British and a single German soldier. They've used up all their ammunition and have resorted to hand-to-hand fighting. Imagine the gas clouds swirling (I wanted to take the photos thru a green-yellow filter, but didn't know how.) around. The scale is 1/16th which means each figure is 100 to 120 mm in height. I've used a few kit parts from various model makers. The sculpting media is 2 part air drying putty - Magic Sculpt and Kneadatite. Hope you like it! All the best, Dan
Dan Morton Posted 18 January , 2014 Author Posted 18 January , 2014 Thank you! Always was...still is. All the best, Dan
Guest exuser1 Posted 19 January , 2014 Posted 19 January , 2014 Am a model figure collector myself and love the way you convey the action in to this small diorama ,also the figures in gas protective clothing give an added inhuman feel to the work ,very clever .
fellop Posted 19 January , 2014 Posted 19 January , 2014 Very good indeed, well done. Do you have any other models you might show us ?
Andrew Upton Posted 19 January , 2014 Posted 19 January , 2014 Very good, but you might want to make the British soldiers scabbarded trench knife a little less WW2 American : http://www.cowanauctions.com/itemImages/ww1224.jpg
kenneth505 Posted 19 January , 2014 Posted 19 January , 2014 Something compelling in this, the violence feels palpable even as they look like Orcs in their gas masks.
Dan Morton Posted 19 January , 2014 Author Posted 19 January , 2014 Fellop, Andrew Upton and Ken Santa Fe: Many thanks for your comments, gentlemen! Fellop - Not only do I have other models from the Great War, but I'm currently offering several on e-Bay, this piece included. See userid lazyschnauzer, item # 201022123134. I do paint, but not very well. If you would prefer a painted model, I work with some terrific figure painters and can get you in touch with them. All the best, Dan
