JOSTURM Posted 16 January , 2014 Posted 16 January , 2014 With no access to a service or pension record, I'm clutching at straws on this man. He won the MM as a Corporal (LG 16th July 1918) for an action presumably 2/3 months before this. He went to France on 19.8.14 so entitled to the Mons Star. I have his trio. He enlisted 7.12.1911 so was pre-war regular BEF. He was discharged 23.5.19 due to sickness. Can anyone help on 40th Brigade RFA and if he is likely to have won his MM for the battle of the Somme in 1918 and whether a citation may still exist ? Many thanks for any information or suggestions. sotonmate Posted 16 January , 2014 Posted 16 January , 2014 Josturm 40 Brigade RFA were 3 Division from start to finish. The recent unveiling of digital War Diaries has split what was 1 piece for the duration and cost £3.36 to download is now 4 pieces at £3.36. The refs are: WO95/1400/1 : /2 : /3 and /4,roughly in year segments,so /4 is for 1918 and MIGHT have a citation for your man's MM.
