John Beech Posted 17 January , 2014 Author Posted 17 January , 2014 Kitchener's Bugle Thanks for your reply. My interest in these officers is that they were all involved in raids on Nottinghamshire. I have basic career details, as you sent from the Zeppelin Museum at Tonder, on some of these officers, what I would like to do is to get some more details of their lives. For example, Leutnant zur See Brand was Executive officer on L-13 when it attacked Retford. His commanding officer was Kapitanleutnant der Reserve Eduard Prolss who was the pre war fire chief of Magdeburg and had trained as a merchant marine officer with the Hamburg-Amerika Line. Stabbert's Executive Officer was Leutnant zur See Ernst Schirlitz who was later shot down on L-33 and spent the rest of the war as a POW. He stayed with the Navy and in WW2 became an admiral and was captured in 1945 becoming a prisoner for the second time. These four officers are more elusive and even specialist German airship websites don't appear to have any detail on the crews. Thanks again for your reply Regards John
