Significance of RE number change - 1919

About time I joined this forum. I hoping someone with a better knowledge of RE numbers can help with this query -

George Simonds switched from a war-time to a regular engagment in the RE in March 1919. At this point, his number changes from 60982 to 314461, (it changed again in 1920 to 1854493, under the newly introduced system). Can anything significant be read into the number change in 1919? 314461 appears to similar to a TA renumbering but the number isn't from the RE block (400001-574000).
