theodore Posted 6 January , 2014 Posted 6 January , 2014 Tryng to find details for the award of the Military Medal to Albert Marsh. Albert served with the Worcestershire Regiment (12935) but I don't believe he gained this award with them. He also served 10357 MGC and 418473 Labour Corps. Did he receive the award serving with either of these Regiments? It may be an error in the details I have on him but if any member can help (to clear this up) it would be appreciated. Regards Peter
sotonmate Posted 6 January , 2014 Posted 6 January , 2014 You could try the London Gazette for a date of publication, which often is around 3 months after the event. His MIC has no ref to an MM,they often have it added in longhand,so it was probably missed off. The MIC also suggests he returned to the Worcesters as a last unit before the end of his service.
theodore Posted 8 January , 2014 Author Posted 8 January , 2014 Hi Sotonmate Thank you for reply to my posting. Have tried LG but as I don't know when the award was won (or even if he did win M.M.for certain) can't pin the date down to a year let alone a 3 month period. Tried a number of different ways on LG search (Surname, Service No. etc) engine but no luck so far. Regards Peter
