spconnolly007 Posted 23 December , 2013 Posted 23 December , 2013 This is a photo of a relative, Bernard Francis Connolly, born 1901 in St George in the East, Stepney, London. We have no idea as to his service or where he served but my guess would be Palestine going by the photo? He survived the war, if in fact he served in it and not as part of an occupation force, taking his age into consideration. Any thoughts on regiment etc would be most gratefully received. Many thanks for looking. Regards, Sean.
Graham Stewart Posted 24 December , 2013 Posted 24 December , 2013 Almost certainly a boy soldier, with what appears to be bugle/trumpet cords on his KD - as to his unit, sadly no identifying insignia. Have you looked closer at the shoulder strap to see if there's a title?
spconnolly007 Posted 24 December , 2013 Author Posted 24 December , 2013 Graham, many thanks for the reply, interesting observation regarding the bugle/trumpet. Would I be correct in assuming Middle-East what with the Pith helmet? I cant make out anything on the shoulder strap either, which is a pity. I dont know much about horses but he looks to be a fine animal. Regards, Sean.
