Hello everyone

I'm looking for some info about the loss of the above pilot, who was killed on August 10th 1915. He had been on a sortie against a Zeppelin, and his aircraft crashed whilst attempting a landing at RNAS Westgate in fog. His death was well-reported in the press at the time, and he is commemorated by a memorial in St John's Cemetery in Margate. The memorial cross has been granted Grade II listing due to its historical importance.

Does anyone know the identity of his aircraft?

Regards

Simon

Lord was killed in Sopwith Tabloid 1212 and an brief account of the incident appears in Flight of 13 August 1915, pages 588 and 589.

He had been appointed a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant on 27 April 1915.
