jerusalem surrunder to 2 british soldiers..

a photo album, that was given to sir herbert samuel by the american colony in palestine between 1920-1925 was found recently in israel archive by coencidence..

one photo is very interesting, the mayor of jerusalem surrender to 2 british soldier.

the story i heard was that the 2 soldiers were cooks who looked for water and found thmselves taking jerusalem..

Generally thought to be Privates Albert Church & Richard Andrew, 2/20th Londons.

The two in the picture shown are Sergeants Sedgewich and Hurcombe, not the two earlier cooks.
