AndyMacdonald Posted 22 November , 2013 Share Posted 22 November , 2013 Hi all, Just a quick double check here, on the off chance that some obscure military medallic jinx might be triggered by accident. My wife's cousin is soon to graduate from RMA Sandhurst. We had it in mind to give him his g-grandfather's miniature medals from WW1/2 as a graduation gift, keeping the family military tradition alive as he enters the service 100 years later. There are eight medals in total. They are all American. The g-grandfather survived uninjured and died an old man. Any ways, my question is this: is it viewed as bad form/luck to give such medals at a graduation ceremony? I am assuming that it is fine, no problem, but I am hoping some of the military types stooging around might offer a view from the 'inside', as it were. AndyMacdonald Posted 22 November , 2013 Author Share Posted 22 November , 2013 Neither have I, but someone told me it would be best to check. So, here I am, checking ... what harm can it do? A
