widwick Posted 27 September , 2004 Share Posted 27 September , 2004 I have an MIC to a T.F. NCO who was Disembodied. In the Remarks area there is a circle (hand drawn) with inside the numbers 30 over 7 over 52 with a horizontal line separating each set of numbers. Thought it was his date of death but have drawn a blank on that. Any ideas, Pals? Tony

HarryBettsMCDCM Posted 27 September , 2004 Share Posted 27 September , 2004 Late issue of Medals{or re~issue}it might be an idea to check against the actual Medal Rolls,I would assume it implies some usage of the MiC in 1952 for Issue purposes. hmsk212 Posted 27 September , 2004 Share Posted 27 September , 2004 Could it be his age on disembodiment 30 years and 7/52 (7 weeks)? Steve
Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 27 September , 2004 Share Posted 27 September , 2004 The murderer Reg Christie's MIC has a close date written in the same way. I was told by a leading light at the PRO that this indicates the card is one that has been replaced on the date specified. Here is Christie's MIC:

Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 28 September , 2004 Share Posted 28 September , 2004 Tony, Who knows? The original card may have been damaged or amended for some reason - probably one of those stories lost in the mists of time! Ian

Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 28 September , 2004 Share Posted 28 September , 2004 What does disembodied mean? Marina Applies to Territorial men, who are embodied for service and then disembodied instead of discharged when they leave.
