Stephen Barker Posted 27 September , 2004 Posted 27 September , 2004 The 8th East Lancs moved their BN HQ to Elvaston Castle on 23rd February 1917 - 4 days efore my uncle died. The HQ moved from Maroc in the right Loos sub-sector. I can't find any reference to it on maps or in primary sources. Is this some sort of chateau/mansion? Does anyone know? I'd be grateful for your thoughts. I don't think I've heard it mentioned elsewhere in France - I know it's the site of a stately home in Derbyshire(if my memory is right.) Thanks Stephen
