Ken Lees Posted 16 November , 2013 Posted 16 November , 2013 Can anyone throw any light on the above officer, Captain Melville Charles Dymoke CORDEAUX, his service in the Royal Garrison Artillery and the award of the Military Cross. I have his MIC giving his arrival in France in 1918 and also that he was awarded the MBE. Anything else would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ken
ss002d6252 Posted 16 November , 2013 Posted 16 November , 2013 I have nothing on him but the 1916 Army list has a Major Cordeaux as governor of St Helena - presumably some relation. Craig
alf mcm Posted 16 November , 2013 Posted 16 November , 2013 Hello Ken, Ancestry has a private family tree showing him born in India in 1883. The FIBIS website has an extract from the Times of India showing that the wife of Edward Cordeaux, Civil Service, had a son at Poona on 21st August, 1882. His name was not given, but there is a good chance he is Melville. Regards, Alf McM
