maxi Posted 17 November , 2013 Share Posted 17 November , 2013 I love a documentary which includes the words 'The True Story'. Who would have thought otherwise? Steven Broomfield Posted 18 November , 2013 Share Posted 18 November , 2013 I rather enjoyed it. There wasn't much that was earth-shatteringly new (Massie covered most of it in "Dreadnoughts"), but it was well put-together and there were some rather stunning locations. I do like the Boche Royal Family!
Guest Posted 18 November , 2013 Share Posted 18 November , 2013 I do like the Boche Royal Family! There's a lot of water under the bridge now, maybe they could go back to using their real name now. Nobody would mind, surely? I enjoyed it too, though missed bits. Mike

Anneca Posted 20 November , 2013 Share Posted 20 November , 2013 I had this recorded and watched it last night. Thought it was extremely interesting and [almost] felt sorry for the Kaiser as a child. Anne
Steven Broomfield Posted 20 November , 2013 Share Posted 20 November , 2013 Anne - no almost about it. He seems to have a rotten childhood.
Stoppage Drill Posted 20 November , 2013 Share Posted 20 November , 2013 So a case of "Zat's it ! No more Herr Nice Guy!" would you say? His son was a nice chap though, if you can overlook Verdun. Nice sympathetic pic of his better half over on another thread.
Steven Broomfield Posted 20 November , 2013 Share Posted 20 November , 2013 And the son was, as mentioned elsewhere, a very popular Colonel -n Chief of the 11th Hussars in the balmy days of peace.

Pighills Posted 20 November , 2013 Share Posted 20 November , 2013 4OD, nah, it's ok if you're on a trip (train, plane, etc) but I'd rather watch it on the big screen when I can. Thanks though Skippy

Steven Broomfield Posted 20 November , 2013 Share Posted 20 November , 2013 If I decide to go on a trip, I prefer not to be doing it in a plane or train. Other people do stare so.
