Guest Posted 13 November , 2013 Posted 13 November , 2013 I am trying to find out in which Battle my uncle would have been fighting in at this time in the Somme. He is buried at Contalmaison and from the detail in Wauchope's book they were in Contalmaison on 24 August. Would it have been the Battle of Bazentin Ridge or High Wood? Did these battles form part of the Battle of Pozieres Ridge. Can anyone tell me where the War Diaries of the 9th Battalion for that time are kept. Many thanks.
Guest Posted 13 November , 2013 Posted 13 November , 2013 I think the Battle of Pozieres. The Long Long Trail Battles The Somme I don't think the part of the 9th Black Watch diary you need, has been digitised yet, though a later part of it is available Here Someone may correct me on this, but if not available, it should be some time next year, or you can visit the archives at Kew and view them there. Or hire a professional researcher to do it for you. Mike
