Admin DavidOwen Posted 12 June , 2020 Admin Share Posted 12 June , 2020 I wonder if the memorial has been changed since its unveiling in 1933? The reason is that I count 16 names on the photo yet according to the report of the unveiling in the Western Mail 18th September 1933 there were 15 men from the village who died in the conflict. (Image courtesy FMP) FMP link Edit: perhaps the 16th could be the Navy man but the number fifteen is repeated in at least one other article from the time. Admin DavidOwen Posted 6 November , 2020 Admin Share Posted 6 November , 2020 The IWM Memorials register lists him as P. Leaceian https://www.iwm.org.uk/memorials/name/431633 Of course that could be incorrect.... The second A looks smaller than the rest of the letters and is not seen as such anywhere else that I can see. That suggests to me that A may not be correct letter.
