David_Blanchard Posted 29 October , 2013 Share Posted 29 October , 2013 I came across this photograph on ebay a while back-sadly I did not win it- of Indian prisoners, who I assume were taken prisoner on the Aisne, 27th/28th May 1918 and were interned in Ramecourt POW camp. The information with the postcard was as follows: Aisne 1.Weltkrieg WK Postkarte Inder Gefangene Ramecourt 28.5.1918 Chemin des Dames I think they were possibly from the 25th Division, as the other units fighting on the Aisne, 8th, 21st, and 50th Division did not have Indian units. They also seem to have distinctive footwear. I would like to know more about this camp and the unit the men were in.
