Sorry about this but can you ID this British unit pre war?

I have an Irish born soldier who stated he served in this unit pre war?

I take its something like

Queens Irish Volenteer Rifles or Regt

But what unit is it?

The AIF soldier is;

O'MEARA Hugh 1434 Pte 05 LHR 11R Tos 12-15 att Rlwy Constr RE 8-17 rtn 9-17

(British QIVR TF 2 years)

Miner age 41 Red Hill Brisbane Qld and NOK Tipperary Ireland

Enlisted 2-8-15 disch UK 26-10-19

Thanks, as I recieved no other likely answers what ever probable seams correct.

I didn't think it was a local unit in aussie, as I was thinking outside the box.
