Census Returns for Ireland based troops pre-1914

I have Ancestry but cannot seem to track down the census return for 2nd Sussex while they were in Curragh Camp in southern Ireland (1910-1912), is it actually available on FMP or others?

Appreciate any guidance in this please

Many thanks

Jim,

Here is the link to the Curragh: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kildare/Kildare/Curragh_Military_Camp/

I think you will just have to keep trying pages to get the correct one. For example here is the 20th Hussars http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002583947/

Many of them will only have the initials which makes it difficult.

Here's some of them:

If you type in "sussex" in the occupation field on the Irish census site you will find a number of them living in married quarters or rened accommodation around the Curragh.

Cracking Mark, I was putting 'soldier' 'army' etc in occupation and going around the houses, will go for 'sussex' now

Thanks again

The occupation shown for soldiers on the Irish census normally seems to be their occupation before joining up!
