Drew-1918 Posted 25 October , 2013 Posted 25 October , 2013 I came across my Great grandfather's "Certificate of Employment during the War" Army Form Z.10, by chance in a box when I was last at my Mum's house. I have never seen these before, and I wondered if anybody knows if many survived and if they are available for research, as they seem to be a good source of information. TIA Chris
ralphjd Posted 25 October , 2013 Posted 25 October , 2013 At a guess I would imagine that this form would have been contained within a soldiers record and not as a separate file within the Army records.
Dannemois Posted 25 October , 2013 Posted 25 October , 2013 Hi Chris I have one too only mine is numbered Z18; but as you say, plenty of info
Drew-1918 Posted 25 October , 2013 Author Posted 25 October , 2013 Rjayde, Thanks very much for replying. I suppose that would make sense, though I havent seen them before with a soldier's service record. Then again, Ive only searched through very specific service records so far and my experience is pretty limited. Dannemois, On second thoughts the one I have must say "Z.18", too. Its a bit hard to read. Z.10 seems to be "dispersal certificate" (though that doesnt sound much different!). Thanks very much for your input.
midshipmanrayley Posted 23 March , 2014 Posted 23 March , 2014 Just found my Grandfather's Z18 Certificate of employment during the war. Trench mortar instructor and refered to as a good Lewis gunner. Handy for a job in civvy street! Great for research though.
