wpf1958 Posted 24 October , 2013 Share Posted 24 October , 2013 I am trying to trace more information on Second Lieutenant Cedric Dunnill Nealon4th Battalion Royal Irish RegimentDied on 19th August 1917, aged 18Commemorated on Panel 51 to 52, Tyne Cot MemorialCedric was the son of William M and Sarah Nealon, of Stanley Ville, Ramsey, Isle of Man.He was commissioned on 16th December 1916.He is commemorated on the War Memorial in St Canice’s Cathedral, Kilkenny. As the 4th Battalion supplied troops to the front I am trying to trace if which Battalion he served with. It has been suggested he was attached to the Inniskilling. Supplementary information; Son of William Martin Nealon, a bank manager from Cork City, and Sarah his wife, of Stanley Ville, Ramsey, Isle of Man. Commemorated on the Great War Memorial in St Canice’s Cathedral, Kilkenny. ‘To the Glory of God and in loving memory of the following members of the Diocese of Ossory who gave their lives for their country in the Great War 1914-1918’. Author). Grave or Memorial Reference: Panel 51 to 52. Memorial: Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium. Nealon-August 16, killed in action, Cedric Dunnill Nealon, Second Lieutenant Royal Irish Regiment, son of William M Nealon, Manager Munster and Leinster Bank Ltd, Skibbereen. Second Lieutenant C D Nealon, Rouyal Irish Regiment, who was killed in action on 16th inst, was the second son of Mr William M Nealon, Manager Munster and Leinsteer Bank, Skibbereen.
