jemm Posted 23 October , 2013 Posted 23 October , 2013 Hi, Can anyone give me an idea where else to look. I have been trying to find a soldier who is named on the headstone of his mother. He is Clement Edward Rawstron and the inscription states that he died during the battle Aisne, 21st Sept 194. I have searched soldiers that died, and CWG but can find no record for this man. Thinking that he may have used a different Christian name I have searched again but no dates fit, and the same with CWG. So am at a loss now, I have in other similar cases found them in my local newspaper for the time but I have never seen this man mentioned which if he had died so early on I would have thought he would have been. I have a list of over 450 men from my area who died which I have compiled from Soldiers that Died, from local church roll of honours, and newspaper reports and again he doesn't appear. Any ideas please
