aradgick Posted 21 October , 2013 Share Posted 21 October , 2013 He was with the 7th Battalion. If you're near Kew, you can see the War Diary at The National Archives. It has not been digitised yet, so you will need to visit in person and get a Readers Ticket. The reference is WO 95/2164/2 Andrewr
Admin Michelle Young Posted 21 October , 2013 Admin Share Posted 21 October , 2013 The date and place of commemoration suggest second Aisne. Hopefully David Blanchard can add some more to this. Michelle

Adam Llewellyn Posted 22 October , 2013 Share Posted 22 October , 2013 Hello Malc, Definitely the Aisne. If you can send me a pm with your e mail details i'll let you have the transcribed diary entry for the 27th, and a appendix from the original diary which you should find interesting. Matthew Richardsons book "The Tigers" would also give you a fuller picture on George's service with the 7th Battalion up until the 27th. Regards. Llew.
