I battery Royal Horse Artillery 1918

I have been trying for a while to find out why my grandad, 77190 Driver Thomas Heron,I battery Royal Horse Artillery,won his Military medal.I think it may have been won during the battle of Messines in August 1918.He died in 1961 just after I was born and my Dad says he would never talk about it.I would be very interested to find out more if anyone can help.

"I" Battery RHA War Diary WO95/1108/2 may have an entry or even a citation for your subject's MM. The Diary is not yet digital.

Have you tried the RA Museum? You never know your luck. L Battery was one the most famous in the RHA (Action at Nery in 1914.
