Zeli Posted 12 October , 2013 Posted 12 October , 2013 Is there a list on the forum of personal projects of members? I was thinking of maybe starting the transcription of the war diary of the 8th Battalion Gloucesters. It would be a shame to repeat work already done. If it is done then maybe I will start work on something else.
kaiserknight Posted 13 October , 2013 Posted 13 October , 2013 Good thinking Zeli! I'm not working on anything at the moment - but hope to do some E/Front research in the next year. Perhaps if members drop in a line to say roughly what they are working through, it may save time for others (or encourage to help?).

kenora Posted 14 October , 2013 Posted 14 October , 2013 I'm working on a project about a Great Uncle who emigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1911, worked for the CP railway and joined the CEF in 1916. He was lost at Passchendaele in Nov 17. His mother kept all of his letters, which I am basing it on, as well as his photos and other documents. . His life intersected with some very interesting times, not just the Great War but the birth of the Canadian Nation and the rise and fall of Irish Home Rule (of which he was a fervent supporter) . There's no shortage of themes and angles but getting it finished is proving problematic what with work and other distractions.! If anyone is involved in anything similar I'd be delighted to correspond. He was in the 144th and 8th Battalions. Shane
