Remembered Today:

SWB - South Wales Borderers?

Am I right in thinking that in terms of regiments SWB is a common abbreviation for South Wales Borderers, or are there any others that it could stand for?

Thanks

SWB is also used as the abbreviation for the Silver War Badge, which was awarded to soldiers discharged from the Army after being wounded. If you see SWB on a medal index card, what it means may depend on where it appears on the card. If it is near the top, next to the service number and indication of rank, it refers to the regiment, but in the lower half of the card it may refer to the badge.

Thanks Ron, I'm certain it refers to the regiment in this case.
