AOK4 Posted 6 October , 2013 Share Posted 6 October , 2013 Yesterday, my book about the German cemetery Menen Wald was officially presented. There was an impressive service at Menen Wald (the first since its start in June 1917) in presence of the german ambassador in Belgium Dr. Cuntz, Minister Bourgeois, Staatsecretaris Bogaert, Governor Decaluwé, former Governor Breyne, Mayor Fournier (Menen), Mayor Seynaeve (Wevelgem), Rold Schüth (Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge) and many other honorable guests. (the real honorable guests being the 48.000 Germans buried in Menen Wald) Afterwards the book was presented to the public. For the first time, the history of the German war graves from 1914 until today has been published in a book. The book (in Dutch) will be available in the MMP1917 and the IFF from tomorrow.
