I am researching the Soissons Memorial for a guide book to the Aisne Battle of 1918.

I would like to get a photograph of Colonel Allsopp DSO of the South Lancashire Regiment

His entry in Part 2 of The Distinguished Service Order page 197 does not include a photograph and reads:

ALLSOPP J.B. (D.S.O. L.G. 16.9.18) A/Lt. Col., S.Lan. R. He was killed in action 27.5.18, and an obituary notice appeared in the Times of 3.9.18.

The citation can be found on page 120 of Part 2 of the DSO and reads:

ALLSOPP JEROME BOILEAU Major (Temporary Lieut.-Colonel); South Lancashire Regiment. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. By skilful organisation and cool handling of his battalion he restored the situation on more than one occasion when the troops on his flanks had been driven in. On one occasion the gallant stand made by his battalion, for which his courage and example were largely responsible, materially helped to save the situation by giving time for the re-organisation of the line.

He was a pupil at Dauntsey's School, West Lavington, Wilts and appears on the roll of honour at the school.

You might want to see if the school has a photograph if the regimental museum can't help.
