Trench Map of Lievin (Left) Secton 1st July 1917

Hi,

I am trying to research one of the 2 OR casualties of the 1/7th Bn Notts and Derby Regt who were killed on the 1st July 1917. The War Diary says they were in the area of Crook and Crimson and later Crazy Redoubt. Specifically it says that D Company were ordered to Alarm Trench to support the 2nd Bn, and it seems that the two casualties may have occurred there.

Is it possible that anyone is able to post a trench map showing these trenches and reference them to whereabouts they actually were on the battlefield. I am trying to research Pte Frederick Smith of Nottingham.

Thank you for looking and many thanks in anticipation of any help received.

Richard

Good morning Mr Swan,

Thank you very much for taking the time to find and posting that, I hadn't realised that Alarm must have been a captured trench. It is much clearer now. I hope in the future to be able to visit the area and have a look round there.

Sorry for the delay in replying, thank you once again,

Richard
