Remembering today Pt.42283 Jeoffrey Carmichael, A Company, 1st Auckland Battalion, NZEF killed 4th October 1917 near S'Gravenstafel. He has no known grave and his name is in the New Zealand Apse at Tyne Cot.

I believe Jeoffrey Carmichael was a member of the Everton FC of Auckland, NZ. His teammate Lt. Thomas Brewer died of wounds received in the same area the day before and another teamate Sgt. Arnold Cantell was killed one year to the day earlier on the Somme.
