jhall Posted 1 October , 2013 Posted 1 October , 2013 HELLO EVERYONE just having a look at the London gazette at officers commissions ect I see some officers have this after there name permission to wear the prescribed uniform is it just that they can wear there uniform even though they have left the army or is there more to it sorry for question but it just interested me to find out more many thanks james
sotonmate Posted 1 October , 2013 Posted 1 October , 2013 I always took that as being able to use the uniform for such as reunions and ceremonial occasions. I often see the statement you post in officer service records when they receive their de-commissioning papers.
jhall Posted 2 October , 2013 Author Posted 2 October , 2013 many thanks for your reply why were some officers given permission and others not?
sotonmate Posted 2 October , 2013 Posted 2 October , 2013 Not known. It may be due to service conditions, possibly those who served over a given length of time, were Regulars or long service TA who weren't Hostilities Only.
